Headway Shropshire Winter Fair

Monday, November 27, 2017

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Winter Fair at Headway Shropshire.  We decided to move the annual event into November as you are all so busy in December and what a success it was.  I don't think we could of accommodated any more people in our rehabilitation centre.

The Shrewsbury Concert band provided some beautiful music whilst everyone browsed around the stalls and enjoyed a cup of tea with some home made cake.

Every year we are overwhelmed by the generosity of you all donating raffle prizes and making hand made items for us to sell.

It was our most successful fair to date and we raised £1149.65 after expenses.

The name of the REINDEER was CARROT and the name of the ROBIN was ISSIE, both name were selected by clients in the rehabilitation centre.

We are extremely grateful to all the staff, volunteers and supporters who volunteered their time to help set up, look after the stalls and tidy up after the event.

Summer Fair 2017

Tuesday, August 01, 2017

Thank you to everyone that showed their support and joined us for the evening at Headway Shropshire Summer Fair.  Despite the tremendous downpour half way through the evening, everyone moved inside and it was our most successful fair to date.  It was lovely to see the families of both Clients, staff and volunteers browsing around the stalls.

Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors very kindly donated a beautiful Koala for our Guess the Name Competition.  The name of the Koala was MILLY and was won by Darren in our Rehabilitation Centre.

Headway Shropshire is very grateful to all the businesses and individuals who donated all our amazing raffle prizes. We had some very happy prize winners.
These events would not be possible with out all the volunteers that helped out on the evening.  A huge thank you to the local companies that helped run stalls including Lanyon Bowdler, Shrewsbury Job Centre and Janet Redlar Travel & Tourism.

Will I need any equipment?
A full kit list will be sent out once teams/individuals have registered. Sleeping bags, rucksacks and camping mats are required. All safety equipment including helmets, harnesses and wet suits are provided.

I have to drop out of the challenge/I have not fund-raised the pledged amount.
If you have to drop out or have not raised the pledged amount before the day of the event you will be require to complete a payment that covers the expenses the charity has paid for your spot.

Why do I have to pledge to fund-raise?
One place costs us approximately £130 per participant, making the rest of the pledge pure donations for our local charity. The money you fund-raise will not only help us in our mission to improve life after brain injury, but it can also help you get better quality food, sleep or other perks during your challenge. The highest fundraiser or group will benefit of these perks, so it’s in your own interest to increase your fundraising efforts!

Can I not pay the entire cost of the ticket?
Unfortunately running charitable activities means that we need further funding to ensure the people affected by brain injury receive the services we provide. Your fundraising is what will help us achieve our charitable goals and we cannot accept just the full cost of the ticket.

What happens if I do not fund-raise the pledged amount?
You will be given fundraising support from our Headway all the way through, to ensure that doesn’t happen. If for some reason the target is not achieved, we will be in touch with you. We reserve the right to offer your space to another participant.

How will I pay?
Your initial payment of £30 will be via bank transfer or via cheque. The details can be found on the Registration form.
