Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Winter Fair at Headway Shropshire. We decided to move the annual event into November as you are all so busy in December and what a success it was. I don't think we could of accommodated any more people in our rehabilitation centre.
The Shrewsbury Concert band provided some beautiful music whilst everyone browsed around the stalls and enjoyed a cup of tea with some home made cake.
Every year we are overwhelmed by the generosity of you all donating raffle prizes and making hand made items for us to sell.
It was our most successful fair to date and we raised £1149.65 after expenses.
The name of the REINDEER was CARROT and the name of the ROBIN was ISSIE, both name were selected by clients in the rehabilitation centre.
We are extremely grateful to all the staff, volunteers and supporters who volunteered their time to help set up, look after the stalls and tidy up after the event.
Headway Shropshire would like to thank the volunteers from Interserve Telford that helped to complete our garden ready for our Summer Fair. The whole team worked really hard to paint the fences, flower beds, bird feeder and sun dial. Due to the recent weather being perfect for weeds our newly planted vegetable and herb beds needed some care and attention. The bank adjacent to the path has now been laid with new turf and some climbers have been planted at the top which will cover the wire fence over time. Our clients were also treated to a wonderful selection of sandwich and cakes which was kindly provided by the team.
The Headway Shropshire garden has had a make over with help from a team of volunteers from BT and Nikki from Top Notch Gardens. A bank of earth has been removed to widen the pathway to the top of the garden, all fences and rails have been painted, a fence has been built at back of garden, weeding of paved areas and planting of herbs, vegetable and trees. The garden now looks amazing and can be enjoyed by the clients at the centre throughout the year.
We are very grateful to all the local businesses who donated all the item to enable the project to go ahead.
